Biography:

In the ORCIVUS context one can find terms that can be interpreted and misinterpreted in many different ways. For ORCIVUS’ part, every symbol and concept serves a clear purpose; nothing is there without reason. However, some things happen due to sheer coincidence and could therefore be difficult to explain. 

 ORCIVUS was officially founded in January 2006 by Perditor, whose ambition with the band was to create individualistic/satanic art in the form of music and lyrics. Mortifer was asked to join the constellation a month or so after. By this time the band went under the name HAEMOPHILIA; a demo was recorded soon thereafter and it was very well received in the music press. This demo also caught the attention of Swedish/Portuguese label Next Horizon Records, and after some negotiation an alliance was formed. In connection with this the name was changed to ORCIVUS which better suits the vision of the band.

The infamous Necromorbus Studio was booked for a June 2007 recording session, which would eventually spawn the debut album “Consummatum Est”. It was produced with the aid of Tore Stjerna and the result came to raise ORCIVUS to a whole new level. The album was originally scheduled for release in the fall of 2007, but due to some unforeseen problems, the release had to be moved to February 2008 instead, with the date finally set to the 20th.

Since the recording the band has acquired two additional session musicians to make it possible for them to also play live, and their very first appearance took place at the SWR festival in Barroselas, Portugal.
